Want to plug in? New Oppotunities Adult Ministries LIFE Groups Love one another, Intercede in prayer, Fellowship around Christ, Evangelism filling the empty chair. There is nothing like authentic community-knowing others well and being known for who you really are -to energize your soul. God created us to “do life” together, not alone. We believe that participation in a LIFE Group is essential to growing spiritually. Women’s Ministry The purpose of Women’s ministry at Cody CMA is to connect women in growing relationships with God and each other. This happens through studying together, praying together, serving together and playing together. Opportunities: Bible study leaders, Mentors, and Event hostesses If you have an idea for an activity, ministry or service that would connect women with God and each other that would be great too! Sunday Morning Classes Adult Sunday School classes are designed to help participants grow deeper in their relationship with Christ, and in their knowledge of the truth of God’s Word. We work hard to ensure that every class includes a strong “life application” component. Often, these classes become the catalyst for people to step into LIFE groups and other ministries as they build relationships with others in the class. Youth Ministries Youth Ministry at Cody CMA is about helping to make teens faith their own. When they “graduate” from our ministry we desire that they have a faith of their own, not the church’s faith, or their parents, or anyone else’s. With that faith, we are seeking to make them into committed disciples & disciple makers. (volunteer apps. mandatory to serve directly with youth) Overall Youth Ministry Opportunities: Prayer Group People who like planning events, for ex. Retreats, mission trips etc. Fundraising Coordinator Pumpkin Patch Coordinator Middle School Opportunities: Sunday School Teacher Wednesday night Bible study leaders & Mentor’s Leaders for SNL our outreach events High School Opportunities: Sunday School Teacher Wednesday Night small group leaders & Mentor’s Leaders for regular outreach events Children’s Ministries Our ministry exists to: come along side parents as they disciple their kids to follow Jesus with their lives and to provide Christ-centered, Bible teaching programs for churched and non-churched kids in our area. (volunteer apps. mandatory to serve directly with children) Nursery Child care for infants through 2 years on Sunday mornings and other all church events. Opportunities: Workers to be scheduled during 1st service this fall. Subsitute workers for both services. We would love to see more men serve in this important ministry with the important little people of our church. Orbit Preschool-5th grade Children’s Sunday School during both Sunday services. Opportunities: teachers, preschool helpers, sign in table helpers (1-2x a month), subs Comet Preschool-5th grade Children’s Missions & Prayer Program between services. Opportunities: teachers (usually a 1 time commitment) Galaxy Wednesday evening Children’s Ministry for preschool-5th grade Opportunities: activity leaders, group leaders, bus volunteers (every Wed. night Sept.-April), subs as needed Kidz Kamp Monday-Friday camp for 3rd-6th graders at the Wyo State Fair Grounds. Opportunities: worship leaders, male counselors (June 14-18) VBS Half-day week of programs for 4 yrs. - 6th grade at the church. Opportunities: activity leaders, teachers, worship leaders, actors/actresses for dramas, people to make snacks, helpers, preparation volunteers (August 2-6) General Ministries Worship Arts Ministry... Worship is much more than music. Worship is about humbly engaging people with excellence and ushering them into the presence of God through the arts. Opportunities: Worship Team...vocal & instrumental Drama/Video...acting, directing, writing, editing Visual Arts...decorating, design, creative visuals Technical Arts...sound, graphics, video Ushers/Greeters...friendly folks willing to welcome and serve people before and during each service Welcome Center...We are looking for people willing to serve before and after a service on a rotating schedule. Connection Cafe Provide refreshments and hospitality to those in the congregation that are choosing fellowship between services. Opportunities: Volunteer to bring snacks for Cafe. (means about 4 - 6 dozen) (We ask that the snacks arrive in the church kitchen by no later than 9:30a.m. on Sunday so that we have time for preparation.) Anyone willing to adopt a week of the month to help host. Global Impact Team This team serves the church by communicating, educating, involving, and equipping people to be involved with the spreading of the Gospel around the world. This team also works to support and encourage international workers connected with our church. Care Ministry Deaconess Ministry... Our purpose is to help the Elders/Pastors with practical & spiritual care. Opportunities: Help organize and prepare meals for families experiencing surgeries, illnesses, and new babies. Help with funeral services. Visitation. Benevolent Committee We work with helping disperse money to people as critical needs arise. The money is not paid out to the individual but to the agency or landlord to whom the money is owed. The committee is charged with doing background checks to verifying the authenticity of the need. We work as a unit so that we get well thought out decisions. Sewing Ministry We are here to make baby quilts to give to newborns of CMA members. We will be sewing June 11 Friday 9a.m. - 2p.m. I have made book markers with the information including bring a lunch to share this Sunday, May 16. We would love to have you. Contact: Evelyn Browning 587-5930 or cell 272-5148. Opportunities: Workers to help expand the baby quilt ministry for the CMA to the hospital here in Cody. Prayer Warriors to lift up little ones and send encouragement cards to the parents. Special Events Team This team serves the church by organizing and hosting church-wide events involving food. (i.e. Thanksgiving Banquet, potlucks, BBQs, Meat Feast, etc.) Trustees Men & women desiring to serve by maintaining, reparing, & improving the physical facilities. |
